The Blind eye of Childhood

A psychotherapists told me that people forget most of their childhood around the age of 13. One assumes that One forgets your childhood to grow up. Most of our childhood memories are then connected to photos.

On the one hand this is sad. One can’t remember all the good things with your family and friends. On the other hand it helps to forget the bad things.

So if abuse and molestation stops before that age the chances are that you might not remember anything. But something might happen to trigger a memory.

The irony is that one might have all kinds of behaviors that one can not explain until one remembers.
