My daughter and I visited the Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville Georgia a couple of weeks ago. It is a beautiful Museum stockful of art and in a lesser way artifacts and I would say an under visited museum. It also feature stagecoaches and a wonderful mini working farm(Sagebrush) area for children to play in. It also have a great Cafe and Gift shop. It shows a 15 min film on the western history of America through the use of art in the Museum. If you want to see 2D and 3D art Western Art this is definitely the place to go. The art in this museum range from super realism to abstraction. The Booth Western Art Museum has a Library that functions as reference for Western American art, culture, history, Civil War history and United States Presidential History.
I was overwhelmed by the amount of art and with this visit I loved the work of Ethelinda the most. See close ups of her work below. She as many other artists in this museum needs a post and research of their own.
With more than 8 permanent exhibitions, 4 plus temporary exhibitions, the sculpture garden outside and the children’s play farm the Booth Western Art Museum deserves more than one visit. I am sure I will be enthralled by something new every time I visit it. The Booth Western Art Museum website has an online catalog of all the art in this museum.
